Terms of use
Last updated August 5, 2026
Agreement
By accessing or using TheftRadar, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Not emergency or official police service
TheftRadar is a community reporting and discovery service. It is not 911, law enforcement, NCIC, an insurer, or an official police records system. In an emergency, contact local emergency services. File an official police report and independently verify TheftRadar information before relying on it or taking action.
Accounts and acceptable use
You must provide accurate account information, protect your login, and use the service lawfully. You may not:
- submit information you know is false, misleading, stolen, unlawful, or posted to harass or threaten someone;
- publish private information, accusations, or media without a lawful basis and appropriate rights;
- impersonate another person or agency, interfere with the service, bypass access controls, scrape at a harmful rate, or introduce malicious code;
- use a report to confront, stalk, discriminate against, or harm another person; or
- treat a search result or absence of a result as conclusive proof of ownership, guilt, innocence, or property status.
Your content
You retain ownership of content you submit. You give TheftRadar a worldwide, nonexclusive, royalty-free license to host, copy, format, display, distribute, and moderate that content as needed to operate and promote the service. You represent that your content is accurate to the best of your knowledge and that you have permission to submit it. TheftRadar may hide, edit, preserve, or remove content and may suspend accounts when reasonably needed for safety, quality, legal compliance, or enforcement.
RadarVault and ClaimRadar
RadarVault and ClaimRadar are private organization tools for user-supplied property, crash, fire, evidence, and expense records. They do not contact emergency services, file an insurance claim, establish ownership, preserve a legal chain of custody, determine fault or fire cause, provide legal or insurance advice, guarantee coverage, or replace instructions from police, fire officials, medical professionals, your insurer, or an attorney. Never enter an unsafe structure or remain in traffic to collect information.
Report delivery occurs only after you confirm a recipient and authorize that specific send. You are responsible for verifying the address, your authority to disclose every attachment, and the recipient's instructions. Email may be forwarded, retained, or intercepted outside TheftRadar's control and cannot be recalled. A delivery receipt means the email provider accepted the message; it does not prove that a police agency or insurer opened, accepted, filed, or acted on the report.
Tips, rewards, and recovery
Users are responsible for reward terms, eligibility decisions, and payment. TheftRadar does not guarantee a tip, recovery, arrest, conviction, reward payment, or the accuracy of any report. Do not arrange unsafe meetings or attempt to recover property yourself; involve law enforcement.
Paid features and donations
Prices and included features are shown before checkout. Payments are processed by Stripe. Except where the checkout terms, law, or a written promise says otherwise, completed one-time unlocks and donations are final. Subscriptions continue until canceled and remain subject to the terms shown at checkout and in the account billing portal.
Disclaimers and liability
TheftRadar is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties and are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, loss of data or profits, personal confrontations, third-party conduct, or decisions based on user-submitted content. Some jurisdictions do not allow every limitation, so portions of this section may not apply to you.
Changes and contact
We may change or discontinue features and update these terms. The revised date will appear above; continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms. Questions, corrections, takedown requests, and legal notices may be sent to [email protected].
